Return of the Siberian cranes

Saying that four cranes have returned to Keoladeo National Park, in the Indian city of Bcarnpur, leads more than one reader to wonder if he has something new. At least scientists from Russia and India have received the news with great satisfaction. Migratory birds returned to India Park for two consecutive years and feared the worst.

An endangered bird that invests in its trip to India through Urales, Afghanistan and Pakistan. If in 1960 there were a hundred cranes, in 1990 only five were counted. They have done everything they can to make crane puppies grow in the Park and then join those who live in freedom, but so far they have not succeeded.

While the state of the western crane (Grus leucogeranus) is critical, the number of these beautiful birds is not reduced to five. In addition to this group that follows the Western migratory route, there is another larger in number. This second group, called Oriental, has about three thousand people traveling each year from Siberia to travel to China.
