The coming weeks… a unique show of planets
2002/04/22 Elhuyar Zientzia
In the coming weeks we will have a very unusual show in the sky. The five brightest planets will be together. Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn are the planets that appear almost aligned.
According to astronomers, this unique grouping cannot be seen again for centuries. Two years ago, a similar situation occurred, but the Sun's situation prevented anything from being seen from Earth. This time astronomy fans will be able to enjoy this relative movement of planets.
Therefore, Miramon KutxaEspacio de la Ciencia has organized for next April 27 an astronomical observation inviting all people who want to participate. The appointment will be at 21:30 in the planetarium of the museum and in addition to offering a brief explanation about the conjunction, we will talk about the celestial constellations that can be seen in those nights.
