The objective of the Face Lab project is to inform the driver of the vehicle that he is tired. To do this, a team of researchers from the University of Canberra (Australia) has presented a prototype based on two cameras. Both cameras are placed in the dashboard of the vehicle, looking at the driver, taking three-dimensional images of the head and face. The system controls the number of times your eyes blink per second, whether or not you bend your eyes, and how much your head angle changes. When you begin to notice signs of fatigue, the system alerts the driver.

The development of the new system in Australia is not surprising, as the distances between cities are long and drivers spend many hours on the wheel. Approximately 700,000 people die each year in traffic accidents. According to experts, 30% of these deaths are due to fatigue.
