Today, 400 years, in Venice, Galileo publicly exposed his telescope. He did not invent the telescope, but with his observations began a new stage. Among other things, it was he who first discovered the craters of the Moon or four moons of Jupiter and the rings of Saturn, although he thought they were two satellites.

This anniversary is precisely the reason why this year is celebrated the International Year of Astronomy.
