According to astronomical models, the group of asteroids Veritas arises from a terrible asteroid shock 8 million years ago. Now, geologists have found traces of this shock in marine sediments. In fact, it has been found that the concentration of the isotope helium-3 is three times higher than normal in sediments of 8.2 million years ago. This means a tremendous collision between asteroids. Then the released dust came to Earth and that is why it is in so many helium-3 sediments.
