Science-Metrix has created the map of global scientific cooperation. They used a huge database of scientific articles published between 2005 and 2009. Each time two authors or researchers from different countries have jointly written an article, the relationship between these cities has been embodied in lines. The brightness of these lines depends on the number of collaborations and the distance between both cities.
