Tablets with keys

If you don’t like the touch keyboard on your tablet, you should know that there are tablets with a keyboard. As well as portable keyboards that are designed for tablets.

Tablets are portable computers that are used through the touch screen, without a keyboard. Above all, they are designed to surf the Internet and consume content. But if you spend a lot of time creating texts, spreadsheets and things like that, you might miss a keyboard from time to time.

There are already tablets with a keyboard. For the Asus Slider model, for example, the keyboard pops out from under the screen. It’s more comfortable to type than the touch pad, but adds a lot of weight to the tablet. This other model, called the Transformer, has a keyboard attached to it. This way, you can use only the same tablet and use it as if it were a netbook when you are at home or in the office.

Keyboards also cover other common tablet shortcomings: They have USB and HDMI ports, memory card readers... In the case of the transformer, it also adds hours of battery.

If you already have a tablet, such as an iPad, you can also find loose keyboards. Among others, the following two from Logitech: You can use the box of this Tablet Keyboard as the base of the tablet. This one called Keyboard Case as a screen protector case. Both are connected to the iPad via Bluetooth.

Adapting the keyboard to the tablet may seem like a step back. Aren't we going back to netbooks? But on the street, the keyboard opens up the possibility of using the same device both at home and at work, and of course the user.
