The plants are 300 million years before what was expected thanks to a fossilized spore.

So far it has been recognized that the plants appeared 450 million years ago. In today's issue of the journal Science, the results of a new research on this subject have been published. In this work S. American biologist Blair Hedges analyzed 119 proteins. These proteins came from fungi, mosses, plants, algae and even a couple of yeast species. With all these samples, the whole family of research has been considered, so you can study the evolutionary branches that are derived from it.

Some of the consequences are surprising: fungi appeared 1.3 billion years ago (so far it was considered that this occurred 660 million years ago) and plants 750 million years ago (so far it was admitted that they appeared 450 million years ago).
