Claude Cohen-Tannoudji and Unai Ugalde at the opening ceremony.

The official opening was given by the Lehendakari Juan José Ibarretxe, Pedro Miguel Etxenike and Alberto Galindo, with two talks. Then came the main course of the event: Claude Cohen-Tannoudji. The French physicist, winner of the 1997 Nobel Prize, spoke in his speech on a subject he knows very well: Bose-Einstein condensed.

Cohen-Tannoudji spoke, among other things, about the behavior of atoms in the ultraviolet temperatures. With his speech he had very attentive the whole auditorium, accustomed to giving lectures.

Thus, the congress began with a Strong Conference. However, the atmosphere changed radically afterwards, as a beautiful chamber concert was heard. Einstein played the pieces he liked: Sonata en re major y Quinteto en sol menor de Mozart.

These days will have a total of nineteen speakers until Thursday, six of them Nobel Prize, all of them top level. Therefore, the level of the talks is guaranteed.

In addition, as highlighted by the organization (Donostia International Physics Center), the talks will explain the details of quantum physics, but you can also reflect on the image and work of Einstein. In fact, among the speakers there are philosophers and historians, as well as physicists and chemists.

It is a week to learn and enjoy with Physics and Einstein.
